Even me!

I often look back and try to remember where I came from. It helps me keep things in perspective. I have been in the Church now almost 40 years. It has helped me to know that GOD is able to see what is possible rather than what is probable. I recently read a sisters blog about Ruth. It seemed incredible to me that Ruth who is in the lineage of Christ was a gentile. Even more incredible is that Boaz was the son of Rahab the harlot and the grandfather of king David. I am more keenly aware today that GOD  makes selections still of nobodies like me that no one can glory about themselves. I quite honestly know that it is such a privelage for me to sit  with the Saints in his house. Although twice the presbytery has layed hands on me I still feel as though I will always be least in his kingdom. Yet to be at the bottom in his kingdom is better than anything I have ever known. Ruth came from the roles of welfare to the robes of nobility. I am thankful to be reminded of this wonderful lesson. In my fathers house are many mansions. I hear there are still rooms available. May GOD bless!

Thank you Lord!

I have lived a few years now and have been able to enjoy many of them. Of course I have also  had a couple of bad days now and then. But overall life has been pretty good for me and mine. I try to thank GOD every day for his blessings. I often praise GOD for the ability to walk. I have not always been able to do so. I realize every step I take has been the the direct result of the prayers of the faithful. If you think life has not been fair to you consider those who have gone on before you rejoicing in their pain, afflictions, poverty and humilation. Life is good! This is the day the Lord hath made rejoice and be glad in it. If you plan now to live forever your journey must begin on grateful dirty knees praising GOD and blessing those around you. People say misery loves company but the fact is joy is much better company to keep.

Wait a minute!

We know from the scriptures that tribulation worketh patience Romans5:4. Over the years of preaching these scriptures brethren inadvertently avoided praying for patience not wanting the trouble that came with it. Then as though GOD opened my understanding I realized that the tribulation was going to come anyway. The reason bad things happen to good people  is that we may be able to develope a charactor similar to GOD. Try to imagine what would have happened to you if GOD had not been patient with you. By all means knowing now that trouble is just around the corner I must certainly pray for patience and wisdom to understand the lesson of my trials. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

The good place!

The king of Israel once said: Iwas glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. The temple once provided not only a place to gather and worship but also a place where GOD was to dwell. Now the Church is the temple and GOD,s dwelling place. It is pretty exciting to know that when you gather together in church you have just entered into GOD,s home. I am sure that you know that words fall way short of describing your feelings when you know your in the prescense of GOD. I still am humbled when I hear the words of a beautiful song that says from rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong, I`m not worthy to be here, but thank GOD I belong. But seek ye first the kingdom of GOD,and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Once clothed with his holy spirit and brought into his prescence you will not experience any greater joy in this life. I hope to see our joy fulfilled when we meet together with Christ. My love and prayers to all the saints amen!

First love

It is vital to maintain the love of GOD,love of life in the Church and true relationships with the brethren. Many people fall away because they themselves have broken relationships with other people in the Church. Soon they no longer love their life in the Church and eventially no longer have that love for GOD that they once had any longer. It is no wonder that Jesus warned us to stay attached to the vine. When first being introduced to the brethren I was amazed by their love for one another and their great joy. It was apparent they loved no matter who you were and maintained this wonderful joy regardless of the circumstances. It is only right to not only be grateful but to earnestly strive to embrace our first love. With great excitement I approach the doors of our Church as if today were my first. Wonderful things have happened to me and those I love. Words can not tell the story and convey what is in my heart. The Church will rise above the destruction just as Noah's ark did. I am so happy to be aboard!  GOD bless!

Just a passer by!

My father used to say I would like to buy him for what he is worth and sell him for what he thinks he is worth. We have all fought  the temptation of pride. In my studies over the years I have always found the word arrogancy attached to the word pride. It has much to do with what you think of others compared to yourself. While driving through a bad snow storm I passed by a young man waving his arms in an effort to get help. It was evident his car was broken down. But I noticed his long hair & raggy appearence so I drove on by. Soon my consciense got the best of me & I turned around & helped him. I soon realized that for pride I not only passed him by but found he had in his car his young wife & infant child. Things are not always as they seem. I try often to remember this lesson. I hope to look down with humility & not on others. I know that GOD called me just to let people know that he loves unconditionally. I know I am still a work in progress. Pray for me! May GOD bless you & yours

The meek shall inherit the earth!

Meekess is a combination of humility and gentleness. In a generation of overbearing people it is often dificult to be meek. This time that we live in offers us no excuse. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. James 3:13
